Can Happiness Come From Criticism?

Anytime we open ourselves up to criticism we take a risk on our emotional safety. Correction from our employer, criticism on the internet or in person, for the things we say and do, a yelling parent or spouse can often leave us feeling misunderstood, mistreated and often simply just unhappy. Sometimes we might have a right to feel the way we do, but the greatest among us have always found a way to take criticism, and use it to improve ourselves and the way we behave.

The perfect coach, teacher, boss, parent and God knows how to chasten and correct in a way that, in the end, will make us whole. We only need choose to accept such loving correction.

Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth: therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty: For he maketh sore, and bindeth up: he woundeth, and his hands make whole.
